[WINii ] An Exciting Update

Plus, how to break into C-Suite

Hi WINers!

It’s been a minute! Apologies for the MIA - life has been a whirlwind.

My day job as a product manager increased scope by multifold, while I’ve been working on WINii during the early mornings and weekends. At the cusp of burnout, we have some exciting news.

WINii’s beta app has finally launched! Can’t wait to share the details + apropos, a fun chat on how more women should enter C-Suite.

Let's dive in! 👇

💰 WINii Update

⭐ Major WINii update ⭐
We invited our first cohort of Meta employees to test our beta app! The feedback have been invaluable and we’re actioning against them as fast as we can.

Our aim is to help you build your custom financial blueprint - connecting financial aspirations (how much $$$ would you need to reach financial independence) to actionable steps. All while building a safe community of like minded women and allies in tech keen on talking money, career and life that comes in between.

Here are some updates based on feedback:

  • [New feature] Close the financial gap! See what levers you can pull to reach your financial independence number.

  • [Update] 401k tracking

    • [My use case] I try to max out my 401k after-tax contribution as early in the year as I can. But this year, I was tight on cash for a much needed vacation given all the investments I was making into WINii. So I calculated how long I could pause my 401k contribution while still maxing out by end of year. The calculation and flexibility allowed me to have a great time on PTO while providing safety in mind knowing I will still reach my 401k target by year end.

  • [Update] Show source of spending

    • May WINers have multiple credit cards and checking/saving accounts. It’s great to see all of spendings across accounts on WINii’s spending tab. Now, you can also tap to see which bank or credit account the spending is from.

We’re starting with Meta, but would love to expand to more companies in coming months. Let us know if you and your colleagues would be interested in starting a WINii cohort at your company. Would love to connect!

🚀 Breaking into C-Suite

Do you have a goal of becoming a top executive? Although it’s unlikely for me to enter C-Suite at my current company, I have daydreamed about rising higher up the organization.

In a recent episode of MoneyBites, I sat down with Bhavana Smith. She shares her story of increasing her salary by an impressive 60%, and if entering C-Suite was all that was cracked up to be. Her advice on managing up really sparked my own curiosity.

What do you do when you feel your career is stuck?

Why (and how) women should brag at work

What you (and your company) can do to bring more women into the C-Suite

Breaking into a C-Suite position takes a lot of courage. We might think imposter syndrome is the biggest thing standing in our way, but there’s a lot more to the story.

Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code and the first Indian American woman to run for U.S. Congress, delivered last year’s commencement speech at Smith College.

In her speech, Reshma highlights why imposter syndrome is just a scheme and how political, financial, and cultural barriers keep women out of the rooms they’re trying to break into.
